A city centre park is closing for almost a week in preparation for a four-day audio-visual spectacular.
Aberdeen’s annual festival of light, Spectra, will be held in Union Terrace Gardens over four evenings next week.
To allow the participating artists to set up their installations, the green space will be inaccessible to members of the public from 9am today.
During the festival, which begins on Thursday and runs until Sunday, the gates leading to the gardens will only be open from 6pm to 9.30pm.
The slip road between Rosemount Viaduct and Union Terrace will also be closed from 6pm to 10.30pm every evening to protect pedestrians taking in the sights.
Aberdeen City Council says Union Terrace Gardens will completely re-open to the public at 5pm on Wednesday, February 14.
It will also erect signs nearby informing visitors of the opening times and street closure.
