Four youths have been charged after fighting in Oldmeldrum resulted in a 15-year-old boy being hospitalised, police have said.
Officers were called to the Market Square area of the village at around 9.30pm on Tuesday following reports of youngsters fighting.
Three boys aged 15 and another boy aged 16 have now been charged.
The youths will be reported to the youth justice management unit.
Community policing inspector Nick Thom said: “Anti-social behaviour and violence of any type will not be tolerated.
“A 15-year-old male required hospital treatment as a result of this incident and it goes without saying that the incident could have been far more serious without the quick thinking of members of the public and police.
“We are dedicated to working with our partners to put in place measures that prevent violent crime, harm and disorder from happening in the first place.
“The safety and well-being of individuals and communities is paramount and we are grateful for the support we receive from members of the public. We continue to urge anyone with concerns to get in touch with us on 101.”
