Caledonia Cremations offers a simple funeral with no service for £995.
In Aberdeen the average cost of a cremation in 2017 was £3,102.
The not-for-profit funeral director aims to offer an affordable option for bereaved families.
Paul McColgan, the founder of Caledonia Cremations, said: “Borrowing thousands of pounds to cover a funeral is now common practice in Aberdeen.
“Our vision is for a Scotland where everyone can afford a dignified funeral, personal to their needs.”
