An 80-year-old man has been treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a sheltered housing complex in Fraserburgh.
Two crews were called to Windmill Court at about 4pm, after the pensioner’s flat filled with smoke.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to clear the property before helping the owner, who was struggling to breathe.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “One of the flats there was smoke-logged, so the firefighters used a positive pressure ventilation fan to get rid of the smoke.
“They also administered oxygen to him, and called for an ambulance to attend.”
