Police are appealing for witnesses following vandalism attack on a primary school in Banchory.
A total of eight windows were smashed at Banchory Primary School over the weekend.
The damage is estimated to be around a low four-figure sum of money.
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson said: “Vandalism is not a victimless crime. It is disappointing council tax payers’ money will now need to be spent on paying for the repairs that could be instead be used to fund children’s education as well as other important council services.
PC Cameron Donald said: “This mindless vandalism will not only be costly to repair but will impact on the community.
“It is completely unacceptable and we are urging anyone with information or who saw anything unusual or suspicious over the weekend to get in touch.”
If you have any information regarding the incident you can contact police on 101 using reference number CF0034210218.
