A man has been charged following a two vehicle road traffic collision this morning on the A947 between Oldmeldrum and Pitmedden road.
The collision involved two vehicles, a Silver Mercedes E200 and a Red Land Rover, at around 11.40am.
The 65 year old male driver of the Mercedes was charged in relation to careless driving and issued a fixed penalty notice.
The female driver of the Land Rover was trapped in her vehicle and had to be cut free by firefighters after the collision.
She was later taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – her injuries are not thought to be serious.
The road was cleared by around 1.30pm.
PC Paul Carnie said: “With the weather turning colder we are urging motorists to slow down and and drive to the conditions. The speed limit is not a target and remember if the road is wet or icy it will take you longer to stop.
“Ensure that your vehicle is maintained and prepared for the conditions and keep an eye on the weather forecast.”
