35-year-old Joseph Delahunty appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today to face charges following the recovery of drugs with an estimated street value of over £61,000 in the Guild Street area of Aberdeen.
Crack cocaine valued at approximately £56,400, and heroin valued at £5,400, was recovered as part of an intelligence led operation yesterday, which involved local CID officers and a drugs detection dog and handler.
Mr Delahunty, from London, made no plea and was released on bail.
Detective Sergeant Bruce Buntain said: “We are fully committed to disrupting the illegal supply of drugs into the North East and we will use all specialist resources available to us in order to do this.
“Yesterday’s recovery is a significant amount of drugs successfully removed from circulation that was destined for local communities in the north-east.
“Anyone with concerns about drug misuse in their area or who has information that would assist us keep drugs out of the north-east is asked to call Police Scotland on 101.”
