The line-up for this summer’s “poshest” music festival has now been announced.
Dubbed the ‘posh T in the Park’, Fyvie Live will return to the stunning backdrop of Fyvie Castle in June with headliners Ward Thomas who will be supported by bands including Main Street, the Emmerdale cast members’ all-girl band.
TV soap stalwart, Chris Chittell, who plays Eric Pollard in the long-running show, will be the compere for the event which last year raised just under £10,000 for charity Funding Neuro.
This year the funds will be ploughed back into the repairs of stone creatures on the parapets of the National Trust property and event organiser George Walker hopes to build a “bigger and better” event for the region.
Mr Walker had hoped to run a two-day festival this year, but said his aim was to “grow” and aim for a full weekend in 2019, adding: “We are excited with our line-up this year and delighted to have secured twin sister duo Ward Thomas to perform as the headline act.
“We are also excited to announce further big name acts in our line-up such as Main Street which is an all-star world class live band featuring members of the cast from ITV soap Emmerdale.
“Plus we have the acclaimed Blondie tribute band Dirty Harry confirmed along with the Wynntown Marshals who were recently featured on BBC Radio 2.
“We’re also looking forward to welcoming up-and-coming singer songwriter Joel Gardner as part of his UK tour.”
The 7,000 capacity crowd will also be entertained by the sound of pipes and drums at the historic castle venue and the evening will be brought to a close with a fireworks grand finale.
Festival goers are encouraged to bring their own picnics, seating and mini-marquees to enjoy the day’s entertainment from 2pm onwards and families are welcome.
Tickets are now on sale for the outdoor event which will take place on Saturday, June 9.
