People in Fraserburgh are being urged to sign up for their chance to feature in a film shot in the town.
It has been given the working title Born to Run and has been inspired by the Bruce Springsteen song of the same name.
The film focuses on the lives of a fish filleter who decides to steal his son’s car and join the boy racers who regularly race through the port’s streets.
Casting calls for the main roles have already taken place and the cameras are to start rolling next month.
Now help is needed to find the townspeople who are willing to become an extra in the north-east production.
Film bosses have said they require a “large amount” of extras of all ages to take part.
Assistant director Sean Boyle said they want to hear from people working in the fish processing industry as well as youngsters who enjoy skateboarding.
He said: “The film requires a large amount of extras. We are looking to hire locals to fill these roles.
“We are particularly looking for men and women who have experience in working with and gutting fish.
“We are also keen to have some teenagers who are great at skateboarding or BMXing involved.
“We would love to hear from anyone interested adults and kids of all ages and we will be requiring extras for both day and night shoots.”
The movie is the brainchild of director Scott Graham, who comes from Fraserburgh.
He said: “Several years ago while I was back home researching a film I wanted to make about boy racers I heard about a Fraserburgh fishwife who left her husband for listening to too much Bruce Springsteen.
“I thought it was funny and romantic that a fisherman from the north-east would so identify with Springsteen’s music but sad he’d driven his wife away because he could not say to her what he found expressed in Springsteen’s lyrics about life and love in small towns.”
