A new bar and restaurant will open its doors to the public in Aberdeen next month.

All Bar One is one of the big names coming to the new Marischal Square development on Broad Street.

The chain has announced it will open the £530,000 site on March 23.

Workers moved in before Christmas to begin fitting out the bar, which will create 40 jobs – a mix of full and part-time roles.

It will be the first All Bar One in the city and the fourth in Scotland as there are already two in Edinburgh and one in Glasgow.

In March, All Bar One bosses asked Aberdeen City Council’s licensing committee for permission to operate an outdoor drinking area at the bar.

The committee unanimously approved the application, but placed a restriction on it banning music from being played outside of the venue.

It will be able to open from 10am until 1am daily.

The chain is the latest in a series of businesses to begin moving into the £107 million development, built on the site of the former city council headquarters.

Tenants including Costa Coffee and Prezzo have also been signed-up.

The Residence Inn by Marriott was the first firm to open at the site in October, while ice cream firm Mackie’s opened its parlour in December.

Douglas Lumsden, co-leader of the council, said: “This is just the start, as businesses begin to move into the new Marischal Square. It’s really good that progress is being made.”
