Schools across the north of Scotland are taking precautions due to severe weather conditions.
Craigievar School
Craigievar School in Aberdeenshire has closed today due to current conditions on side roads to and from the school.
With drifting snow forecast the school will be closed today to all pupils and staff.
A statement from the school said: “Pupils to complete work sent out yesterday. Further work to be set for the P4-7 class through Class Dojo.”
Banchory Academy
Banchory Academy has delayed its opening for pupils and staff travelling to the school.
The academy will open at 9:30am.
The SI8101 Glen Dye/Mill of Camie bus will not run due to poor road conditions.
Meldrum Academy
Due to the winter conditions Meldrum Academy have made changes to transport routes.
A statement from the school said: “Kineil 705H Methlick will not be running the Skelmonae road today, pickup at the Skelmonae road end and Methlick.
“Kineil 705J Old Rayne / Meikle Wartle will not run the Tocher part of the route, pick up will be at Rayne North School.”
Premier coaches from Meikle Wartle and Durno will not be running today.
Lumsden School
Lumsden School has now closed for everyone despite delaying its opening this morning.
Gartly School
Gartly School in Huntly is closed to everybody today
St Andrew’s School
Rothienorman run to St Andrew’s School, Inverurie will not operate today.
Barthol Chapel School
School transport will not operate due to the road conditions and the forecast for later on Premier Coaches are not running today.
The school has urged parents only to bring pupils to the school “if you are available all day to pick up should that be necessary.”
Echt School
There is no school transport running to Echt School including Premier Coaches. The school and Nursery are open to those who can travel safely.
Towie School
Towie School is closed for all pupils and staff due to current conditions on the side roads and the forecast of more drifting snow later today.
A statement by the school said: “If pupils could complete activities from their snow packs and check Glow for any updates in learning from teachers.”
Alford Academy / Alford Primary School
Changes to school transport routes to the primary school and academy. Muir of Fowlis / Cushnie will not be running today as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
Premier Coaches – Forbes/Cairnballoch route not running today towards the primary school.
Easterfield School
Easterfield School is closed to everyone with transport also cancelled.
The Parent Council Meeting Scheduled for today will be rescheduled.
Fraserburgh Academy
Fraserburgh Academy has made changes to its school transport routes.
Due to road conditions, Classy Taxi’s feeder route (NS441Y) which connects to another service at New Aberdour is unable to run today.
A school statement said: “Where school transport is not running, please do not take your child to school yourself unless it is safe to do so. If you do take your child to school you must be able to collect them at the end of the day or in the event of an early closure.”
Largue School
Largue School is shut for pupils and staff.
Daviot School
School transport with Premier Coaches is not in operation today. There will be no return bus at the end of the day. At this time the school will be open.
Inverurie Academy
Watermill Coaches have been in contact to advise that the SS649G, running from Premnay, will not operate today due to the road conditions. A small number of students who have been picked up already will be returned home.
L&B Taxis running contract number SA097H 18 have also advised that they are unable to operate today for the same reason. The contract operators are apologetic for the late notification of these changes.
Keig School
Keig School is now closed to all pupils and staff due to the adverse weather conditions and weather forecasts Keig School is closed today. Pupils are to continue with reading targets.
Tarland School
Due to the weather conditions Tarland School has taken the decision to close to both pupils and staff.
Logie Coldstone School
Logie Coldstone School is now closed for everyone.
A statement said: “This decision was made due the deterioration in the conditions around the school.”
