Work has ceased on the £750million Aberdeen bypass as the Beast from the East continues to wreak havoc.
The hazardous weather conditions and concern for the safety of workers has led Transport Scotland to temporarily abandon the giant project.
With further bad weather predicted, the government agency has not been able to say when work will resume.
A spokesman said: “Due to hazardous weather conditions, and to limit the number of workers travelling to and from the construction site, the only works undertaken since the start of the severe weather have been to enhance the safety of workers who remain on site for security and environmental purposes.”
A 24-hour project helpline is still available on 0800 058 8350.
The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route is due to open this spring or early summer.
