Work on NHS Grampian’s £14.7million health and social care centre in Inverurie is on course to open this summer, despite recent disruptive weather.
The health board’s new facility, which is currently being built on the grounds of the current Inverurie Community hospital, will include community nursing, minor surgery, GP and dental services, in addition to a community maternity unit.
The new Inverurie Health and Social Care Hub will also feature a diagnostic and treatment suite that will offer X-rays.
Exterior work on the building is now almost complete, and construction on the finer details of the rooms inside is well underway.
Once complete, the new centre will be able to take in patients from all around the Inverurie area and further afield in Aberdeenshire.
Clare Houston, project manager for NHS Grampian, said: “It is only a year since work commenced and it’s truly exciting to see the facility now becoming a reality.
“We are all proud to be involved with something which will become an integral part of the healthcare system in Grampian for generations to come.
“It will provide first-rate facilities for the Garioch area, as well as the rest of Aberdeenshire.”
