The Aberdeen Jazz festival got into its stride yesterday as one of the most popular acts performed in the city centre.
Hundreds of people turned up on the Green yesterday afternoon to be entertained by the Gerry Jablonski Band.
The four-piece blues rock ensemble, who have toured in Poland, Holland, Germany and Norway, treated the crowd to a mixture of old and new material.
Over the course of the 11-day programme, which began last Thursday, there will be performances in a variety of city centre locations including St Nicolas Street, The Carmelite, Tunnels, the Belmont Filmhouse, Café Drummonds and Union Square.
During this time, there will be a total of 35 concerts by performers from Aberdeen Grammar School, the Aberdeen University Big Band, the Aberdeen University Jazz Orchestra and Brass Gumbo, the Colin Black Trio, Dan (Oceans 3) and AjZ.
Chairman of Aberdeen Jazz Festival Neil Gibbons said: “The new expanded festival offers an even better celebration of jazz music by increasing the number and breadth of acts which remember our past, revel in the music of now, and showcase new directions and younger players.”
