An Aberdeen fish and chip shop which was devastated in a fire has risen from the ashes to secure a national award.
Sea Salt and Sole in Dyce was destroyed in a serious blaze in 2015, but reopened last March after an extensive refit.
And now the business has been recognised with a National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Fish and Chip Quality award.
The accolade identifies chip shops that serve the highest quality fish and chips in the country.
Sea Salt and Sole owners Rikki and Gillian Pirie said they were pleased to reel in the prize.
Mr Pirie said: “We are very pleased to receive this prestigious award.
“To be recognised as one of the top fish and chop shops by the NFFF is indeed an honour and a credit to our hardworking staff who I would like to offer my sincere thanks for their continued hard work and efforts to maintain our excellent reputation.
“The transformation within the three years since we first opened has been amazing.”
“The award doesn’t just represent the fish and chips we produce, but also the hard work and high-quality produce our local suppliers provide us to work with.”
Andrew Crook, the president of the NFFF, said: “Sea Salt and Sole clearly takes pride in where it sources its fish and potatoes from.”
