A fisherman told yesterday how he had used a harbour at the centre of a court battle for 15 years with no problems.
The small bay in Cove has been used by fishermen since the 19th century but Pralhad Kolhe, who now owns some of the land and a house overlooking the site, wants boats removed from the area.
The future of Cove Harbour will be decided following a hearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
Yesterday the court heard from Charlie Abel, who said he had fished with his father in the area from 1986 until 2001 when he moved to Edinburgh.
Solicitor Robert Sutherland, representing Mr Kolhe, asked him if he knew whether his client lived in the home of the previous owner.
He said: “I’m guessing he does, I do not know for sure.
“I have not met Mr Kolhe.”
He was then asked how often he used to fished there.
He said: “We lived to fish, it was often like an addiction.
“We would go out all through the year.”
The Cove Fishermen’s Association is battling Mr Kolhe’e attempts to remove boats from the area though the civil court.
The court heard previously that Mr Kolhe wrote to them in 2014 asking them to take their vessels off the site within 14 days.
The hearing, before Sheriff Andrew Miller, continues.
