A man has admitted assaulting a friend with a knife after they fell out over money.
Alan Thomson, 27, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to assaulting Bruce Ross on August 1, 2017 at a flat in the city’s Menzies Road.
Fiscal depute Stephanie Ross told the court that Thomson, whose address was given as Bradley Terrace, Tillydrone, had been drinking alcohol in the property with Mr Ross which “resulted in a physical fight”.
Miss Ross said: “They chased out onto the street and continued to fight each other. A witness saw them return to flat.
“The victim had a three inch laceration to the rear side of his head and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
Defence agent John Ferrie said Thomson had no previous convictions and suggested there were “two different views with regard to the size of cut”.
Sheriff William Summers deferred sentence until next month for reports.
