Three teenagers have been charged after the art unit at a Fraserburgh primary school was “extensively” damaged by a fire yesterday.
Police in the town confirmed overnight that the three youths, two aged 14 and one aged 13, had been charged with wilful fire-raising and a report will be sent to the youth justice management unit.
All the equipment within the art unit at St Andrews Primary was damaged beyond repair.
Sergeant Graeme Cupples has issued his thanks to everyone who contacted the fire service as their prompt action prevented more damage to the school.
Police and firefighters had been called to the school just after 5pm yesterday.
