An empty Royal Bank of Scotland building could soon be transformed into a restaurant and takeaway in a north-east town.
Developers believe the former branch on Stonehaven’s Market Square could be the perfect location for the new venture.
The nature of the business that will take up residence has yet to be decided, but there have been “positive discussions” with a number of firms.
Indian and Italian restaurants are two of the possibilities.
The proposals have been submitted by Bennett Developments and Consulting on behalf of owners Sava Estates.
Don Bennett, from the firm, said: “The application has been lodged and at the moment we are not in a position to say who would be going into the premises.
“The owners have had positive discussions with a few different potential end users at the site.
“It includes an Italian pizza business and Indian, but these discussions are only the start and it might be someone completely different who moves in.”
Planning documents submitted to Aberdeenshire Council reveal the ATM machine at the site would have to remain there for a number of years.
