A city centre bar and restaurant will close its doors for the final time next Monday after 13 years of business.
The Albyn, located in Aberdeen’s west end, was taken over by administrator AlixPartners in September 2016, but has suffered ongoing financial losses.
Ryan Grant, joint administrator at AlixPartners, said: “There has been a marked downturn in revenue for the Albyn for some time now, which is believed to be attributable to the current economic climate.
“Unfortunately, despite several cost saving measures, the Albyn has continued to be loss making. This, unfortunately, clearly has an impact on the viability of the business, and as a result, the Albyn will close for business on Monday.”
AlixPartners have stressed that they are working to ensure that the 27 employees impacted by the closure will receive the necessary support to enable them to receive all of their statutory entitlements as required.
They have also said that customers who have paid deposits for reservations will be refunded in full.
