Council chiefs are considering introducing new traffic measures in Peterhead.
The proposed parking and waiting restriction would be at Roanheads between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and is aimed at easing access for larger vehicles like bin lorries and delivery vans.
It will, however, mean residents can continue to park their own cars there overnight.
Councillors on the Buchan area committee will be asked to authorise a consultation.
A report by Aberdeenshire Council’s infrastructure boss Stephen Archer said: “Following multiple issues with access to Roanheads, Peterhead, it is proposed to introduce a parking and waiting restriction between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
“This parking restriction will allow access for large vehicles to Roanheads during the day, without removing overnight parking for residents.
“It is proposed to undertake a four week statutory consultation with interested parties such as the AA, Road Haulage Association and others.
“This would be followed by a 21 day public consultation with site notices erected at the affected location, giving anyone who wishes to object to the making of the order the opportunity to do so.”
The committee will discuss the plans when they meet at Peterhead’s Buchan House tomorrow.
