A former newspaper reporter is leading a scheme aimed at boosting the fortunes of a north-east town.
The Super Saturday initiative was launched by independent retailers in Fraserburgh five years ago as part of a bid to improve footfall.
Its market style events are held in Saltoun Square and Broadgate and six of them have been planned for this year, with the first being held next month.
Now the scheme has a new coordinator, with former Fraserburgh Herald reporter Alison Noble taking on the role.
She said she was “delighted” to be heading up efforts to provide the port with a boost.
Mrs Noble said: “I am delighted to have been given this job. The Super Saturday’s really are a fantastic series of events that have been used to showcase the very best of the north-east.
“We are right in the heart of the town in Saltoun Square and Broadgate and we are just trying to get folk to come into the town.
“They can visit the stall holders and maybe have a look at the shops in the town centre too.
“We really hope visitors will come and see what Fraserburgh has to offer.”
Mrs Noble said the Super Saturdays would not be possible “without the backing and support of Aberdeenshire Council, local traders, volunteers, entertainers and the local community”.
The theme for the first event of this year is Fraserburgh Celebrates and as well as stalls it will feature performances by Fraserburgh pipe band and singer Owen Gibson.
There will also be a Royal Wedding-themed fancy dress parade for children.
The Super Saturday initiative is funded by Aberdeenshire Council through a grant to Fraserburgh Development Trust.
The six events will be held on May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8 and December 8 from 10am until 3.30pm.
