Police are investigating a fatal road collision on a north-east road where a pedestrian died last night. An 18-year-old man was struck by a red Volkswagen Polo on the A980 between Alford and Torphins road at the Craigievar Community Hall late last night. He later died from his injuries. Sergeant Peter Henderson said: “Our thoughts are with those involved in this tragic incident, as well as their relatives and friends. Inquiries are ongoing and I appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet given their details to Police to get in touch.” He added: “I also appeal to anyone who may have dash cam or mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward. “Anyone with information can contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 in confidence.
