Staff from Aberdeen’s Prime Four business park are used to feeling like they’re drowning in paperwork in the office, but yesterday they were keeping their heads above water in a more literal fashion to mark the launch of a fundraising obstacle race.

The Prime Four Beast Race pits participants against water cannons, lochs of icy water, thick muddy crossings and more over miles and miles of tough Scottish terrain to raise cash for charity.

The extreme obstacle course takes place at Loch Ness on September 1 and in Banchory on September 22.

Last year’s events saw 5,000 people battling through mud, scaling walls and crawling under barbed wire over two days to raise £50,000 for the event’s official charity partner, Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland,

Entries are now open for this year’s Beast Race and there have already been a record number of corporate entries from groups wanting to do something out of the ordinary with their colleagues for a good cause.

Fife Hyland, communications director at Drum Property Group, the developers of Prime Four, said: “Prime Four has been the Beast Race’s main sponsor since 2014 and we’re so proud to see the event grow in popularity with record-breaking numbers of attendees every year.

“It’s a great event. We’re proud to sponsor a true homegrown obstacle running event.”

Entry to the Beast Races start at £56.
