The Banchory Beer Festival has been shortlisted for the finals of a national hospitality competition.
The popular festival was set up by brothers Mungo and Guy Finlayson, and has now been nominated for the best Scottish festival category at the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2018.
Mungo said: “I received a phone call a few weeks ago telling us we’d be nominated as finalists.
“I was absolutely delighted to receive this call, even more so as someone – we still don’t know who – had nominated us, making all our hard work building the festival up over the last few years worthwhile”.
Rivals in the category include the Loch Lomond Food and Drink Festival, Glasgow Science Festival and Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
Over the last five years the brothers, who also started Inverurie Beer Festival and OriGINs – The Scottish Gin Festival, have focused on introducing high quality small batch beers, ciders, gins and rum, to the event. This year’s event will run from August 10-12.
The Scottish Hospitality Awards ceremony will take place on May 29 at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
