Aberdeen City Council’s co-leaders have voiced their support for Cove Rangers ahead of their crunch tie today.
Jenny Laing and Douglas Lumsden are backing the Highland League outfit in their match against Cowdenbeath, which could secure them a place in the SPFL Division Two next year.
Mrs Laing said: “Cove Rangers FC’s investment in their new Balmoral Stadium shows that they not only have the players to compete at the highest level but also have the facilities to ensure they are a real asset to the SPFL. On behalf of Aberdeen City Council I send my best wishes to Cove Rangers FC for a victory.”
Mr Lumsden said: “Cove Rangers FC are a great asset to the city of Aberdeen and their new facilities in Cove lend themselves to top level football.
“I wish John Sheran and the Cove Rangers team all the very best for Saturday and I am confident they will be playing SPFL football next year.”
