The incident occurred just before 6am on the A90 near Hatton. Fire crews used hydraulic cutting gear and an electric saw to free the man. A police spokesman said: “There initially was a male trapped within the van. “Injuries are not thought to be life threatening, but are probably life changing.” The road is currently closed and diversions are in place via Mintlaw. Police are in attendance while they wait for recovery.
