A man has been taken to hospital after a brawl broke out in a north-east town.
Officers attended the scene on the High Street in Stonehaven near the junction with Arbuthnott Place around 7pm.
A police spokesman said: “Members of the public are asked to stay away from High Street area, Stonehaven between Dunnotar Avenue down to the Harbour.
“The area has been closed off by Police to allow for inquiries to be carried out into a serious incident whereby a male was injured during an assault.”
One male has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
