Schools in Aberdeenshire celebrated the royal wedding yesterday with their own parties ahead of the event today.
Activities in King Edward and Fraserburgh included royal games and a tea parties.
Festivities started yesterday morning at St Andrews Primary School.
The Fraserburgh school welcomed parents and pupils to a royal tea party in its main building.
Head teacher Yvonne Duthie said: “The children dressed up as princes and princesses, or royal wedding guests, and invited along their parents.
“It went very well and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
“For the past couple of weeks all the pupils in the school have been learning a bit about the royal family.”
Youngsters at King Edward Primary School, meanwhile, made a day of the event.
They had each been assigned special homework to dream up a royal-themed game for the school to play on Friday afternoon.
And between cake and fun on inflatables, the school took part in royal bingo, the royal relay and even took turns pinning the crown on Harry.
Head teacher Audrey Clark said she was amazed by the youngsters’s creativity.
“It was a super day,” she said.
“They each came up with amazing and really creative ideas for us to play.
“The parents got involved, too, and one baked a royal cake for everyone to enjoy while another brought along a bouncy castle.”
Elsewhere, Buchanhaven Primary School, in Peterhead, hosted its own version of a royal tea party.
Alongside royal cupcakes, featuring famous faces on them, the pupils enjoyed various crafts and royal-themed activities throughout the day.
