A special fundraising day of live vintage music, tea, cake and dancing will be held this weekend to help a Westhill mum battling MS.
Susan Campbell is trying to raise money to go to Mexico for life-changing treatment.
The 49-year-old, who was first diagnosed with the condition when she was 30, needs to raise £47,000 for the hematopoietic stem cell transplant, which could limit its progression.
So far, she has raised more than £31,000 – but time is running out as her date at the medical facility in the Mexican city of Puebla has been set for July.
Now her friends have organised Sunday’s fundraiser to boost her total.
The Vintage Girls band from Tayside will perform tunes from the 50s, 60s, and more modern music with a twist at Ashdale Hall in Westhill on Sunday.
Miss Campbell, who has two children, said: “I’m really grateful to my friends who have set up this fundraising day on Sunday for me, it’s just so nice of them.
“It will be a really fun day for everyone, the Vintage Girls are absolutely amazing singers – anyone in Westhill that’s free on Sunday should come along and enjoy themselves.
“Thanks to donations online and in person, I’ve now raised quite a lot of money but I still need £16,000 – I only started the fundraising at the end of March so I’m so grateful to everyone who has offered their help.”
The event will take place from 1.30pm to 3pm, and proceeds will go towards Miss Campbell’s fundraiser.
