NHS Grampian’s chief executive has announced he is retiring later this year.
Malcolm Wright had also been serving the same role as NHS Tayside on an interim basis, since April.
Mr Wright will step down from the north-east’s board in August and will stay on in Dundee until the end of the year.
He joined Grampian as interim chief executive in December 2014 and was appointed to permanently the following July.
He said: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to be Chief Executive of NHS Grampian for the last four years. From the day I arrived I was made to feel welcome and that sense of support, working together, the importance of teams, the partnerships between clinical and non-clinical services and the shared commitment to patients, their families and carers has been an overarching theme of my time here.
“I am very proud of all the staff of NHS Grampian and I wish them all well for the future. I have been very grateful for the opportunity to serve as the chief executive of NHS Grampian and I will miss my friends and colleagues. NHS Grampian has my personal best wishes.”
