The incident occurred on the Inverurie bypass near the Port Elphinstone roundabout, off the A96. Fire services have put out the fire in one of the vehicles. Police are urging people to avoid the area or approach with caution. All emergency services are currently in attendance after being alerted to the incident around 3.35pm. A fire service spokesman said: “There were no casualties in the incident. “Fire crews have put the fire out in the car.” UPDATE: the road is now open and clear.
