Inquiries are ongoing after a man in his mid-20s was found seriously injured after an apparent fall down steps in Aberdeen city centre.
Emergency services were called to the incident, at the steps leading to The Green on Union Street, at around 3am this morning.
A police spokesman said: “A man has suffered a serious head injury and has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
Officers are currently in attendance at the scene.

Inspector Graeme Penny said: “We are currently carrying out inquiries to establish the circumstances which led to this man being found injured this morning. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting ref. no. 0331 of June 12.”
A spokesman from the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 2.40am to an address on Union Street, Aberdeen.
“We dispatched an ambulance and a paramedic response vehicle and a male in his 20s was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
