An Aberdeenshire dance company is desperately searching for a piper to play in a string of shows next week to mark their 10th year.
Evolution School of Dance is appealing for someone to play the bagpipes live while the senior dancers perform in their biannual show.
The Inverurie-based company, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, has been on the hunt for a piper as their usual accompanist is not available.
Despite many suggestions and a social media search, most musicians are competing or attending the European Pipe Band Championship in Forres the same weekend.
Principal Suzanne Hamilton said: “This year our normal piper is unable to play and everyone we find it turns out there’s an unfortunate clash with the Championships.
“Our junior and senior show involves over 600 students and I think a live piper is important.
“Our Highland dancers work really well with pipers, it gives the performers and the audience a true feeling of the dance when the piper is on with them.
“It helps the dynamics and becomes more exciting for everyone when the two sides come together.
“Hopefully there’s someone out there who would like to perform, even coming out of retirement, and get involved as it will be great to celebrate 10 years with a live piper.”
The musician would be required to attend rehearsals on June 23, 27 and 28, followed by the shows on June 29 and two on the 30 in Inverurie Town Hall.
Anyone available and interested should get in touch with the school.
