Health bosses are urging people to be vigilant after a man posed as GP to get into a north-east pensioner’s home.
The incident took place in Oldmeldrum earlier this week when the culprit falsely claimed to be a Dr Gordon from a local surgery.
He was allowed into the property and sat and had a chat with the pensioner before leaving.
The board has confirmed he did not take anything and the motive behind his actions remains unclear.
A health board spokeswoman said: “We were alerted to this incident earlier this week. We are relieved the patient involved did not come to any harm and no crime appears to have been committed. While it appears to be an isolated incident, we shared the details with other practices so they could make their own patients aware.
“We would remind the public that genuine members of NHS staff will always be able to identify themselves and will not be offended if asked to produce identification.”
