A woman was cut from her car and taken to hospital tonight after the vehicle crashed into a field in Aberdeenshire.
The emergency services were called to Kemnay at 10.34pm after the woman’s silver Ford Kuga veered from the carriageway on a notorious corner and landed in a field.
Firefighters were called to the spot, near the Kemnay Autobody centre on the B933 Keithhall road, and a stretch of the carriageway was sealed off as they used cutting gear to free the motorist from the car.
Police confirmed that the road remained closed at about midnight as investigations into the cause of the accident took place.
The woman was carefully eased from the vehicle amid concerns about her neck, but police were unable to advise on the extent of her injuries.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “Two appliances were sent and removed the casualty from her vehicle before leaving her in the hands of paramedics.”
A police spokesman added: “The car went into the field, but there were no other vehicles involved.
“The road was closed while fire crews removed her from the car, as she was suspected to have suffered neck injuries.”
