A woman in her 60s has been airlifted to hospital following a north-east road smash.
The two vehicle accident happened on the A952 Mintlaw to Fraserburgh road close to the Newark junction.
It happened shortly before 8am and involved a white Morris Minor and gray Renualt van.
The road was closed but is due to reopen at 10am.
A police statement said: “Police are currently in attendance to a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A952 between Mintlaw and Fraserburgh.
“The road is closed at the Newark junction and will be for at least an hour.
“We would like to thank you for your patience.”
An ambulance service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 0755 hours today to attend a road traffic collision on the A952 between Mintlaw and Fraserburgh.
“We dispatched three ambulances and our Helimed air ambulance to the scene.
“One female patient in her 60s was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
