A north-east medical surgery is using a video to promote the local area and help recruit more doctors to work at the practice.
Macduff Medical Practice is trying to encourage GPs to take up a new post in the town.
The seven minute video, which features the staff as well as a tour of the coastal community, was commissioned by the practice and shared online.
Dr Iain Brooker said: “This is a great place to work and we are appealing to all sections of the community to share our video widely through social media in order to reach as many people across the UK as possible.
“We don’t want to recruit just any doctor. We want to reach the best doctors we can find to be the family doctors for their area – now, and in the future.
“We believe there will be good doctors somewhere who would like a change.
“The north-east of Scotland could be the change they need. They just don’t know about Macduff Medical Practice yet.”
The practice successfully recruited a GP last year but is now searching for another doctor.
Councillor Mark Findlater said: “I think it’s very good that Macduff Medical Practice is doing this innovative way of filling GP vacancies they have.
“In Banff and Buchan we are due to lose more GPs due to retirement and we already have a GP shortage.
“Using these innovative methods is what we have to do.
“Our area is a wonderful place to live and work in and this video is a great way to attract professionals into the area.”
If the recruitment video proves to be a success, candidates will also be advised of other vacancies at neighbouring practices to help ease the north-east GP shortage.
