A 34-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged serious assault involving a car in Aberdeen.
Police said a man in his 50s was struck by a white Skoda Octavia at around 7.30pm last night on Oldmeldrum Road in Bucksburn.
The man has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The A947 was closed to allow for investigations to take place but has now reopened.
Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “The area would have been busy at the time and we are urging anyone who was around to contact us. We have spoken to a number of people so far and will continue with this today.
“I’d like to thank the public for their patience with the road closure while we carried out necessary inquiries.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact us on 101.”
