Visitors to a new hotel in the north-east will be guaranteed a comfortable stay – thanks to the production of 258 unique new mattresses.
The Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel will open the doors to its 218 rooms later this summer on St Andrew Street.
And bosses have teamed up with social enterprise Glencraft to create a series of mattresses uniquely designed to offer the best night’s sleep.
The hotel’s name comes from the mythical folklore character who is said to aid sleep and bring good dreams.
Manager Murray Todd praised Glencraft for its “luxury products.”
He said: “We want to do everything we can to ensure that our guests have the very best night’s sleep and that starts with the comfort of their mattress.
“Glencraft is a fantastic organisation which creates bespoke luxury products and we are very pleased to be working so closely with a company based in Aberdeen.
“Guests of the hotel will be the only ones to experience these unique mattresses which are sure to send them off to the land of nod.”
As a consequence of the partnership with the hotel, Glencraft has been able to offer staff an extra day’s work every week.
Its managing director Graham McWilliam said: “It’s really great to be involved in such an exciting addition to Aberdeen’s city centre.
“Crafting luxury mattresses for hotels such as Sandman Signature has revitalised the business as we strive to work closely with international clients, helping them to offer their guests the very best night’s sleep.”
