Police in Aberdeen are carrying out inquiries after receiving a report of a man approaching two boys at the weekend.
The incident was reported on Saturday afternoon and involved a man in the Springhill Road area.
The man is described as being in his 30s with black hair, wearing a white T-shirt and grey trousers and driving a black Mercedes.
Inspector David Cowie said: “We are currently carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and would encourage anyone who was in the area at the time to please get in touch if you have information.
“I would also ask this man to get in touch if you recognise yourself as the person involved.”
There has been a small number of similar incidents reported to police in the city over the past few days, although police stress they are completely separate and different in nature.
Extra officers were deployed to Kingswells at the weekend to carry out further inquiries after a 16-year-old girl was approached by a man.
Meanwhile, a man was arrested and charged in connection with an incident at Dill Street at the weekend and is due to appear at court today.
Inspector Cowie said: “Let me stress that when incidents like these occur extensive enquiries are carried out until we can establish for sure what happened and to verify the intention of those involved.
“The vast majority of reports we receive are often found to be innocent and borne out of people simply having the best interests of children at heart – it is extremely rare that a person will have sinister intentions.
“If this is found to be the case they will be robustly dealt with and safety measures put in place.”
