A 47-year-old man has appeared in court charged with an attempted robbery in the city.
Detectives were called to the post office on Sclattie Park, Bucksburn on Wednesday just before 1pm.
Andrew Bowyer, who also goes by the name Andrew Thomson, was charged with attempted robbery and for having a “blade or point” in public.
He appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday, but made no plea and was remanded in custody.
A 31-year-old man had also been arrested, but was released without charge.
Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “We are still keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and has not already spoken to police to come forward.
“In particular, two men were at the shops at Sclattie Park and would have been aware of the incident happening.
