Emergency services were in attendance at a “serious” crash on a north-east road. UPDATE: 12.11pm A police statement said: “Emergency services were made aware of an incident near King Edward at around 8.30pm involving a blue BMW 320 car. “No other vehicles were involved. Despite the best efforts of Police officers, paramedics and fire fighters, he sadly died at the scene.” UPDATE: 9.15am Police confirm that a 53-year-old man died at the scene on the A947 last night. UPDATE: 7.26am The blue BMW left the road and hit a tree near the King Edward Church on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road. The road has now reopened. The call was made at 8.30pm following a one vehicle collision near the King Edward Church on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road. The road is now closed in both directions. A police spokesman said: “The A947 is closed in both directions at the King Edward Church. “There was one vehicle involved and the injuries appear to be serious.” More to follow.
