In the past two months, north-east police have seized significant quantities of illegal substances – including £250,000 worth of cannabis at one property in Aberdeen.
Detective Chief Inspector Lorna Ferguson said: “These latest figures are testament to the constant proactive work that is taking place every day by specialist officers in North East Division to make our communities even safer places to live.
“It is also testament to the valuable information we receive from the public which in many cases enables us to take quick and positive action.
“Some of the seizures made over the past couple of months would not have taken place were it not for concerns raised to police and I would like to thank those who assisted.”
She added: “It’s only by knowing where suspicious activity is happening and building on that intelligence that we can target our resources to the right places.
“It’s the public who can help us break the chain between drug use and crime so if you’re concerned about dealing in your area, no matter how insignificant you think your information is, we want to know.”
