A man has died and four others have been injured in an ‘incident’ involving a boat at Fraserburgh Habour.
Ambulance crews say they were called to the town at around 2pm.
Fire crews, police and coastguard teams were also in attendance.
One man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, while four others were treated at the scene.
Inspector Nick Thom said: “Our thoughts are with this man’s family at this very sad time.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive and the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.”
A fire brigade spokeswoman said: “We are assisting ambulance crews at Fraserburgh Harbour.
“There was a boat that was docked and there seems to have been an incident.
“Two casualties received oxygen and a third was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
