A plan to build affordable housing in Aberdeen that has been delayed for a decade will face at least another six months of set-backs. Caversham Management Ltd, registered in the British Virgin Islands, has submitted plans for 22 affordable flats on Western Road in Woodside. The plans were first submitted in 2008 but all agreements have not been signed. Yesterday the application was reviewed again by the council’s planning committee due to updated local development plans. However council chiefs must now wait for a report from Network Rail to clarify the ownership of a small piece of grass. It is expected this will take six months. But there was some anger at the committee about the length of time it has taken to get to this point. Midstocket and Rosemount member Bill Cormie said: “Whoever is responsible for this delay needs a kick up the backside. “Twenty-two affordable houses is just what we need in Aberdeen.”
