Celtic have ended their interest in Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.
The Dons rejected a £3.5million bid for the Scotland international on Tuesday and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that is the end of the matter as far as the league champions are concerned.
McKenna had been earmarked by the Parkhead side to strengthen their defence, with Dedryck Boyata wanting to leave the club.
However, much like the interest from Swansea and Hull City, the Dons have rebuffed Celtic’s interest in the 21-year-old.
Rodgers said: “He is a young player who I like. However, the clubs have spoken and Scott, it was made clear, won’t be for sale, won’t be available in this window, so that would end that.”
McKenna is under contract at Pittodrie until 2023 and has been tipped by Derek McInnes to go straight into the English Premier League when he eventually leaves the Dons.
