A police investigation is under way after a man was attacked by two other men as he walked along a north-east road.
The 36-year-old pedestrian was targeted on the A98 Fraserburgh to Whitehills road between Banff and Whitehills last Friday at 8pm.
His assailants were in a small white car before getting out to attack the pedestrian.
The victim was left upset but emerged without suffering any injuries.
Officers are urging anyone with a dashboard camera which may have captured evidence to come forward.
Constable Logan Masson said: “The road would have been relatively busy at that time of night and it is understood that a number of drivers may have witnessed the altercation.
“I would ask that anyone who saw this or who has dash cam footage from this incident, get in touch with us.”
Witnesses are urged to contact police on 101.
