Aberdeeen residents could enjoy free parking after 5pm in all council multi-story car parks as part of an effort to boost the city centre.
The scheme will be trialed for six months, beginning on October 1, and could be rolled out further if it proves successful.
Members of the city council’s operational committee will vote next week on whether to approve the Alive After Five plan.
If approved, the Denburn, Chapel Street, Frederick Street and West North Street car parks would be free after 5pm during the trial, while the Marischal College off-street car park would be free after 5pm on a Saturday.
The council’s March budget allocated £80,000 for the scheme.
George Street and Harbour councillor Ryan Houghton said: “This is a welcome proposal and will hopefully encourage more people to come into the city centre and use the businesses there.”
