Some visitors to the Braemar Highland Games had their travel plans disrupted after a motorcyclist collided with a sheep south of the village.
The biker was seriously injured following the crash and a stretch of the A93 Aberdeen to Perth road was closed near Auchallater from 1.30pm to 4pm to allow an air ambulance access.
A police spokesman said: “The sheep was fine but the motorcyclist needed to be airlifted to hospital.
“Emergency services remained at the scene until the road was able to reopen.”
People attending the games event were encouraged to avoid the A93 and make alternative travel arrangements while the air ambulance was in attendance.
